An airbrush tan should last 7-10 days depending on how often you exfoliate and how well you care for your tan.

Absolutely! Our solution is made with the highest quality DHA which guarantees your tan will be golden brown. In addition, our heather® artists are personally trained by Heather and are highly experienced and trained to avoid streaks and unevenness.

SHOWER, EXFOLIATE & SHAVE 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR AIRBRUSH

You should shower/exfoliate/shave with 24 hours of your appointment. If you have sensitive pores that are easily irritated by this preparation, do this prep earlier. Otherwise, right before the appointment or the morning of works.

Exfoliate like a pro:

• Use a gentle, non-abrasive body scrub
• Apply your body scrub with exfoliating gloves, a washcloth or a loofa
• Apply with circular movements and light pressure

AVOID WEARING LOTION, MAKEUP & DEODORANT BEFORE YOUR AIRBRUSH

When preparing for your airbrush appointment, avoid wearing lotion, makeup or deodorant. These products make it difficult for your skin to absorb the airbrush tanning solution.

WEAR DARK, LOOSE FITTING CLOTHES TO YOUR AIRBRUSH APPOINTMENT

Wearing dark, loose fitting clothes to your appointment is crucial for your tan’s survival. You want your tan to breathe and develop properly without being smothered by tight jeans, yoga pants, or tight shirts. An oversized t-shirt and dark sweat pants work best.

Wearing dark, loose fitting clothing also prevents:

• The possibility of your tan smudging, resulting in uneven or unatural results
• The bronzing make-up from the solution rubbing off all over your clothes

Women, wait a minimum of 30 minutes after your appointment before wearing a bra.

DO NOT SHOWER, WORKOUT OR SWEAT FOR 10-12 HOURS AFTER YOUR AIRBRUSH

Top Tips For Showering

• When you shower, keep the water at a medium temperature
• Shower FIRST before working out or sweating for the first time after your airbrush
• When showering, use a moisturizing bar soap or body gel
• Limit your exposure to bar soaps that will dry out your skin, because that will accelerate the

fading of your tan. Moisturizing soaps are non-detergent based, and most contain vitamin E to help skin conditioning.

MOISTURIZE 3x A DAY WITH HYPOALLERGENIC BODY LOTION

After you have showered for the first time after your airbrush appointment, start moisturizing your entire body two to three times daily. Hypoallergenic cream lowers the pH of your skin after water exposure, which keeps skin healthy and sustains your tan.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!

Drinking lots of water is one way to prevent dry skin. This will keep your skin hydrated and enhance the appearance of your tan. Most importantly, it will prevent the “Cracking Alligator Skin” look that can develop if your skin gets too dry while you are enjoying your airbrush tan.

EXFOLIATE YOUR AIRBRUSH TAN OFF COMPLETELY BEFORE YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT

After you have enjoyed your airbrush tan for twice as long this time, make sure you exfoliate whatever is left of your airbrush tan completely off before your next airbrush tanning appointment.

Yes! I take into account many factors before I mix the tanning solution and place it on your body. The main factors are your features, skin sensitivity, and purpose of tan (i.e. are you getting tan for a wedding, red carpet, photo shoot or just for fun).

LADIES

Most girls tan nude because they want to get rid of tan lines (and look skinnier). For those that prefer a tan line, I suggest a solid string thong. If you wear hanky panky lace bottoms, be sure to fold the material in half so the tanning solution doesn’t penetrate through the lace and give you a lacey tan line that looks like a skin disease. (Yes, it has happened.) It ruins any illusion of the airbrush tan looking natural.

I’m not a fan of disposable underwear. They’re so thin and flimsy, and the tampon string size bikini line they create looks cheesy and un-natural to me. I’d suggest going nude over wearing them.

MEN

Industry standard is that men wear something minimal for the tanning process. Boxers, briefs, speedos, or a professional tanning garment for the “no tan line” effect—it’s basically, a sock with a drawstring.

I have seen it all. Whether you are stark white, ghostly pale, freckly, red-headed, light skinned, dark skinned, or already tan to begin with — I will make you look like a million bucks regardless! I always airbrush tan my clients so that they look natural.

The appointment is set for exactly 30 minutes, so it is very important to be punctual. If you are a first time client, we recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that you can fill out a waiver and receive a consultation from your airbrush tanning artist.

FACE REFRESHER

The appointment is set for exactly 10 minutes. This is a quick in-and-out service without the need to undress. For chest, neck, and face color and touchups.

I would wait a minimum of 2-3 hours for water contact, but the most common suggested time for a client that wants more developed color would be about 6-8 hours.

I wouldn’t wait longer than 24 hours to shower.

Take quicker showers, and avoid steam rooms, saunas, and long visits in the hot tub [while you have the tan]. Most clients get away with swimming in pools and the ocean on vacation, but chlorine is a strong chemical that can make the tan fade sooner than expected if you have prolonged exposure.

You can wear powders and eye makeup right away, but I don’t suggest using any face lotions, creams or sunblock until the product has had a little time to develop. You chance kaleidoscoping the tan before it’s had time to develop. The face usually develops quickly, so for some clients, they wash their face after 1-2 hours, then apply a full face of makeup for going out.

Yes! But shower FIRST. Don’t go to SoulCycle wearing bronzer sweating from head to toe (not a good look).

Also, don’t wear the tightest sports bras that pull and tug and take the tan off with it. Wear bralettes or more breathable activewear.

Yes! Tanning products don’t protect from UV exposure, so maintain sunscreen applications. Using a natural, oil-free SPF is best.

First, facial skin is thinner than skin found on other parts of the body. Your face is also more exposed to the environment and endures more frequent washing. In addition, makeup, anti-aging creams, astringents, etc. tend to break down the tan more quickly.

Dry skin may cause the tan to fade unevenly. If you have dry skin, we recommend that you moisturize twice a day for a week leading up to your tanning session. We suggest that you also apply lotion to dry areas on your skin before your session.

The active ingredient, DHA, has never been tested extensively on pregnant or breastfeeding women. We simply request that clients ask their doctor for an approval before they book a session.

We wouldn’t suggest it. Let your skin heal first and wear sunscreen next time!

Unless someone forfeited their appointment by showing up late or cancelled within the acceptable 12-hour window, we cannot take you early. Why? We are in the room tanning the client that was scheduled before you.

Even if you’re a Honey Buns Club client (love ya!), you MUST fill out a mandatory client form. We’ve updated our policies and you need to agree to them before we tan you. Please note: if you show up to your appointment without first completing the form you will forfeit your appointment. So please, fill it out!

DISCLAIMER: Everyone’s skin responds to tanning products differently.

The active ingredient in tanning solution is derived from sugar and is clear. It develops by science of oxidation (just like when you cut open an apple and leave it out, it turns brown). Some people are more sensitive to tanning products, and some are more resistant.

Your sensitivity to the product can vary based on the food you eat, products you use, medications you’re on, and the condition of your skin, etc.

Filling out the mandatory client form helps us understand your individual needs & preferences so your tan turns out how you want — natural looking and fit for a celebrity.

Yes, but please understand we are very busy and are tanning other buns. It may take a bit to get back to you and send you a confirmation to book. It’s best to BOOK ONLINE for the quickest way to get your time and date locked in.

To Start: Honey Buns Tanning requires a credit card to hold all appointments.

Your card information is securely stored with BOOKER/MINDBODY^® and is ONLY charged in the event of a late cancel or no show. Please bring your form of payment to your appointment, as we do not process payment through our booking system unless required by violation of this policy.

Why do we do this? Because spray tanning requires preparation prior to the service, any cancellations less than 24 hours prior to the service drastically impair our ability to re-book your time slot. Most of our appointments are booked anywhere from 3-30 days in advance and when you book, your time is held just for you.

Respectfully: Spray tanning is not our hobby or side gig…it is our full-time profession and our livelihood. Therefore, we sadly will not make any exceptions to this policy. If your schedule regularly changes or effects your ability to keep appointments, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 561.917.7477 within a day or two (or even day of) your preferred date to see if we can get you in. If we have a spot…we will happily put you in there!

The Policy Any cancellation less than 24 hours in advance of appointment time will be charged $25 of the scheduled service price. No call, no shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service price. Honey Buns Members will forfeit one membership session for late cancellations.
